I grew up listening to a whole lotta bands and it was so hard for me to pick my top five, but here it is. Each of these five bands will always hold a special place in my heart because they've played a major role in so many parts of my life, through all the crappy days and giddy, loved-up moments. Click on the icons below to check them out!
The Kooks
The Kooks are my ultimate go-to on a bad day, with its tunes like “She Moves In Her Own Way” to “Naive,” they never let me down. Discovered them on my favorite teenage British film Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging, and been in love with them since. Can’t wait to watch them live someday!

Good Charlotte
Good Charlotte is a definite throwback for me and their album Good Morning Revival was the first album that made me fall in love with punk-rock music. From heartbreak to mistakes, this band is something I hold near and dear to my heart. This band also influenced a lot of my early fashion choices, hence those all-black clothing choices, sorry mum.

Arctic Monkeys
Recently discovered this band around a year ago and their album AM been in constant repeat, not really a big fan of their new album since there’s not a lot of rock sound to it. But a HUGE fan of all their previous albums. I don’t think I could ever fall out of love with this band, no matter what day or age.

Lifehouse
Lifehouse always give me an early 2000s nostalgia, with its rusty vocals and raw, strong pop-rock drum and guitar sounds. I found this band through those days of USB stick sharing days back in middle school. Its Nirvana/All American Rejects head-banging and air guitar vibes never fails to put me in a good mood on a rainy evening.

The 1975
This band is basically my entire music collection in one band. From its 80s synthetic beats, RnB/soul sounds, mashed in with punk influenced instruments, and dance-pop beats, this band is one of the few that really stay up to date with the culture while also maintaining its own style. With its unique style of sound, the lyrics are very poetry-drive and deep. The songs Robbers, Somebody Else, Chocolate, and Sex were the anthems of my college years.
