Music has always been a major part of my life since the day I could walk. I remember listening to my favorite cassettes (yes I am THAT old) on repeat, and dancing and singing along to it like I was born to be some pop icon. Music to me is freeing, fun, deep, and just a mosaic of emotions and feelings. I always hate it whenever someone would ask me what my favorite song is because different songs and different artists trigger different emotions and events, and to choose any one particular song is to disregard all the rest of the events of my life and I like to think every moment holds a certain kind of importance.
Growing up, my fashion was and it still kind of is influenced by the music I listen to. Britney Spears and the Spice Girls were my idols as a young child, an indie-hippie during my middle school years with Walk the Moon, the Beatles, and John Lennon as my backdrop, and then Lana Del Red and the1975 were the epitome of my teenage years as it could be seen in my ripped jeans, black jackets, and leather boots.
One of my very first major concert was the K-Pop band BigBang and it was one of the best nights of my life, despite the face that I knew only five of their songs and had little to no idea what they were singing about. Thanks Zin, if you’re reading this, for giving me a great first year college experience :) Also G-Dragon, always going to be my all-time favorite bae <3
Music will and always be the love of my life, no matter what career I choose and how much my life changes. x
